has been shortlisted in two categories for the prestigious publishing industry ‘Oscars’ – the Periodical Publishers’ Association awards – which recognise excellence in magazine production.
Deputy editor Richard Young has been nominated for the Alexander Forbes-sponsored ‘Writer of the Year (Business & Professional magazines)’ category.
His entry includes an article looking at the similarities between the official judgements on Robert Maxwell’s auditors in the 1970s and 1990s; and a feature on brand valuation from the September 1999 issue. Richard will be up against writers from titles including Computer Weekly, Management Today, Press Gazette, EuroBusiness, New Civil Engineer and PC Pro.
Art editor Peter Drake has been shortlisted in the ‘DPD Designer of the Year (Business & Professional Magazines)’ category for his work which includes both Financial Director and sister publication Management Consultancy. Peter faces competition from The Architectural Review, Management Today, The VAR, Community Care, MacUser and Computer Reseller News.
The awards ceremony will take place at Grosvenor House on 9 May. Good luck to both.
