Cobblers’ children are the worst shod, that sort of thing. So it’s a delight to flip through the annual report from publishing group Pearson. The design and photography say much about a company that is rapidly focusing its operations which once fell clumsily into “conglomerate” status (though it’s ironic that the Madame Tussauds group should have been flogged off this week). Intelligence and wit suggest a group that is very clear about its market position, its ambitions and the role its products play in our business and personal lives.
