BLACKS Leisure, the camping and outdoor clothing retailer that has suffered extensive boardroom upheaval during the past year, has appointed Dominic Lavelle as interim finance director.
Lavelle brings extensive retail experience having been finance director at Allders, Oasis Stores and Laura Ashley Holdings. He will work alongside Marc Lombardo, outgoing Finance Director, until his departure in December 2011.
Lombardo’s departure is the latest in a line of executive exits from the company during the past year, which include both chief executive Neil Gillis as well as chairman David Bernstein.
Earlier this year, Gillis stood down as chief executive just two weeks after the debt-laden business admitted that its search for a buyer had yielded no successful results.
Lavelle was also FD of Alfred McAlpine from 2003 to 2007 and Erinaceous Group from October 2007 until the business entered administration in April 2008.
