GLOBAL ENGINEERING company Smiths Group has announced the appointment of Rob White as interim CFO.
The change will kick in on 25 April 2015, only if no permanent successor has been unearthed and appointed in the interim. White, currently VP, Global Finance for Smiths Medical for the past six years, will replace Peter Turner until a permanent replacement is in post.
The business said an executive search “is well underway and a further announcement will be made in due course”. White will join the executive committee of Smiths Group and attend board meetings. However, he will not be appointed an executive director of the board.
The move follows an announcement in October last year that Peter Turner would be stepping down as finance director on 24 April 2015 to pursue other opportunities.
Chief executive Philip Bowman said: “Peter has been a valued colleague and I thank him for the support he has given me.”
