Beard set for growth spurt with appointment of new FD
McCabe joins Beard from Grafton as FD
MICHAEL McCabe has been appointed as finance director at £100m turnover construction company Beard.
The PwC-trained chartered accountant joins from building materials group Grafton Merchanting GB. In his new role, McCabe will have management responsibility for finance, business systems and procurement for the construction group which has offices in Swindon, Guildford and Oxford and operates across the south of England.
Mark Beard, managing director of Beard, said: “I am delighted that Michael has joined us as finance director.
“His knowledge and wide range of experience within the construction sector makes him an excellent addition to our executive team during a new phase of business growth for Beard. We are all looking forward to working with him.”
The family owned firm, which was started in 1892, undertakes work on a range of projects up to £10m in the healthcare, arts and culture, commerce and industry, education, ecclesiastical, elderly care, sports and leisure and defence sectors.
