Lee Williams joins French Connection after 15 months with Asos
FASHION HOUSE French Connection has appointed Asos FD Lee Williams as its group finance director.
Williams has been with the online clothing retailer for 15 months, having previously served as CFO of Worldstores and head of financial planning and analysis at Brighthouse Group.
He spent the majority of the earlier part of his career at WM Morrison and Kingfisher in various senior finance roles.
French Connection chairman Stephen Marks said: “I am delighted that Lee is joining us. He has extensive experience of working in senior finance roles at a number of retail businesses, but latterly with a specific focus in the digital environment.”
The fashion house’s shares have taken a hit after falling sales increased its annual loss nearly fivefold, to £4.7m, while retail losses rose to £15.6m from £11.3m.
Revenue to the year ended 31 January fell 8% to £164.2m as the company closed stores and sales at established branches dropped 6.4%.
