New FD for taxi-maker Manganese

Financial controller Pearman steps up after seven years

(Accountancy Age) Tony Pearman has been announced as Manganese Bronze’s new FD, taking the post with immediate effect.

Pearman is promoted from financial controller, a role he served for seven years at Manganese. He previously held senior positions at London Taxis International and LTI Carbodies.

The company has had a rough ride in recent months. Manganese has struggled to secure extra funding from shareholder Geely, while its share price has plummeted due to poor sales. However, Q3 2010 sales saw a slight improvement year on year.

The cab-maker’s share price held steady in the first hour of trading on news of Pearman’s appointment, at 73.5p.
