Financial Director has rounded off a busy year with three shortlistings in its publisher Incisive Media’s annual awards.
The magazine is shortlisted in the awards for best brand and magazine of 2010 and editor Melanie Stern is shortlisted for best editor of the year.
The Incisive Awards recognise excellence in a range of disciplines across the business and contain seven awards geared towards its editorial teams in London, New York, Singapore, Hong Kong and Beijing.
In the best magazine category, FD is competing with Incisive’s flagship title Risk, award-winning magazine Professional Pensions, Inside Market Data and Inside Reference Data. In the best brand category FD is shortlisted alongside Legal Week, Professional Pensions, private equity journal Unquote, Waters magazine and the British Journal of Photography.
FD‘s editor Melanie Stern, who was deputy editor of the magazine until September 2009 when she took over from Andrew Sawers, is shortlisted in the best editor category against Professional Pensions‘ Jonathan Stapleton, Asia Risk magazine’s Chris Jeffrey, Waters Technology‘s Victor Anderson and Clickz‘s Anna Maria Virzi.
“The team working on FD – from our publishers, our sales, marketing, production and events people and crucially, our team of award-winning columnists and contributors – have worked incredibly hard in 2010 to demonstrate how powerful and well respected the brand really is,” says Melanie Stern.
“In 2010 we redesigned and re-launched the magazine and our website to great acclaim, produced stacks of edgy, insightful writing and perhaps most importantly, engaged UK finance directors in a relationship the depth and reciprocation of which no other title talking to that community can claim. We’re very proud of the nominations and that we’re up against some of Incisive’s most successful titles.”
The winners will be announced at Incisive Media’s annual staff dinner on 13 January.
