Sage announces Paul Tooth new head of accountants division

Jim Scott steps down and is succeeded by Paul Tooth at head of accountants division at Sage

IT GIANT SAGE has promoted Paul Tooth to head up its accountants division after Jim Scott is promoted.

Tooth (pictured) was previously general manager of Sage’s HR and Payroll business unit for the mid-market division for the past three years which doubled its growth under his tenure. He joined the business in April 2008 as head of sales and prior to that was sales and marketing executive manager at listed HR and payroll software provider KCS Management Systems.

He succeeds Scott who takes on the role of Europe small business strategy director. The accountants division at Sage specialises in IT products to help accountants manage their own practice as well as helping them support their clients through tax and accounts production software.

“At this exciting time for our customers a key focus area for us is the drive towards progressing our online capabilities,” said Tooth.

“We have an opportunity to show accountants that we can offer industry leading support and software to help them to run and grow their businesses, whilst freeing them up to do what they do best.”

The FTSE 100 company also announced that Steve Attwell has been promoted to MD of Sage’s small to medium sized business division and will have responsibility for Sage technologies. He has been with the company for 24 years.
