VODAFONE group CFO Andy Halford won the outstanding Industry Contribution Award at the Business Finance Awards last night.
More than 300 guests were packed in the Royal Garden Hotel for what was a glittering affair.
Andy Halford (pictured), CFO of Vodafone and one of the UK’s most senior and successful finance executives, was there to pick up the Outstanding Industry Contribution Award.
Other big winners on the night included the Post Office, which won both the ‘Annual Reports: Public Sector & Voluntary’ and ‘Finance Team of the Year: Public Sector & Voluntary’ awards.
Christie’s finance team picked up ‘Finance Team of the Year: Blue Chip’, while ‘Finance Team of the Year: Large Business’ was awarded to ISS Food & Hospitality.
The ‘UK FD of the Year: Blue Chip’ winner was Thomas Cook Group’s Michael Healy.
The Awards, which are run by Financial Director, celebrated the best of the UK’s finance and accounting talent, and shortlists were drawn up through a two-stage process. Financial Director’s editorial team ran through the original entrants, and then a panel drawn from the UK business finance community made the final decisions.
“It was brilliant to be able to follow on from last year’s inaugural awards with an even more hotly contested set of entries and categories in 2014,” said Financial Director editor Kevin Reed.
“Vodafone’s Andy Halford is a worthy recipient of the Outstanding Industry Contribution Award. Managing the finances of one of the UK’s biggest and most successful businesses, which has gone through dramatic growth and change in the last 15 years, is an achievement few can match.”
