LONG-SERVING Premier League director of finance Javed Khan (pictured above) is to leave the organisation.
Khan, who joined from the British Olympics Association in 1999 as its first ever FD, has overseen its revenues increase to more than £2bn from £238m.
The league said he had played a significant role in establishing ‘enhanced rules’ around club finances and ownership, in particular new cost controls and sustainability measures in 2013.
He will be replaced by Ross Christie (pictured left), who is promoted from financial controller. He has worked closely alongside Khan in recent years.
Premier League executive chairman Richard Scudamore said: “The Premier League and our clubs are extremely grateful to Javed Khan for his stellar service as director of finance and administration for the last 17 years.
He established the finance department at the Premier League and has played a key role in the growth and development of several areas of the business. On a personal level his support and friendship have been invaluable and I wish him a long and fulfilling retirement.”
